The primary focus of all of our therapy services at PsyVitalitï is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). This approach has been found effective in the treatment of many mental health conditions, and all of our therapists in Ottawa are specially trained in the techniques associated with CBT

CBT is a popular and effective talk therapy that can be used to treat a number of mental health concerns. It is used to alter negative thought patterns and emotions and help individuals unlearn unhelpful thoughts and behaviours. CBT is designed to be used in a time-limited way, meaning you will reap the benefits of this therapy quickly. It helps clients form coping strategies and learn new skills to deal with how they feel.

Much of the work we do at PsyVitalitï is centered on the treatment of emotional issues such as anxiety and depression, and CBT is an effective tool for both of these mental health concerns.

Conquer Depression

Depression is characterized by feelings of overwhelming sadness, irritability, fatigue, and a loss of interest in things you once enjoyed. If you have been experiencing these symptoms, you may want to try our online depression self-test. After this test, you’ll have a better understanding of what is going on and what therapy options are open to you.

Reduce & Manage Anxiety Symptoms

Along with depression, CBT can be very useful in treating anxiety. As it helps with unlearning unhelpful thoughts, CBT can teach you new ways to avoid negative and anxious cycles. If you’ve been experiencing anxiety symptoms, our online anxiety self-test can help you better understand the severity of what you’re experiencing and show you the therapy options available.

In addition to working with individuals suffering from anxiety and depression, CBT can help with many other emotional issues and mental health concerns. These can include the following.

  • Phobias

  • Stress

  • Alcohol & Drug Use

  • Eating Disorders

  • Marriage Problems

  • Sleep Problems (Insomnia)

  • Relationship Issues

  • Postpartum Depression

  • PTSD
